Let's get started! Below are the steps you will need to take to complete your webquest assignment.
Step 1(Day 1 & 2): I have assigned each of you one of four roles. You will now individually research the occupation you have been assigned. There are an unlimited number of research tools on the internet you may utilize to complete this task. For each role, I have provided several websites to get you started. You can find these provided links under your role page. You will need to decide if these given websites are beneficial and of use to you. I also expect you to find and use sites of your own.
Gather as much relevant information as you can here! How does this person use math everyday? What type of mathematics background/education is needed to work in this field? Is it mainly basic math concepts that are used? Do they use advanced math, such as calculus, physics, statistics, etc?
Step 2(Day 3): Here is where you come together as a group to share what you have learned from your individual research. Did you find any great websites you feel would be beneficial to other members in your group? Were your findings similar to any of your group members? Discuss your research and your findings.
Step 3(Day 4): Now it's time to put together a group presentation. You will create a poster illustrating your research findings. This will be a collaborative demonstration of each of the four roles (the four occupations). You will be presenting this poster to the rest of the class via an oral presentation. In addition, I would like each of you to individually write a 1 page report on YOUR findings only. This paper will cover ONLY your role.
